Why can't I build a boot disk larger than 50GB or more than 3GB swap?

Back

On a cloud platform, SWAP is much less effective or useful than on a traditional server. Thus, the maximum SWAP you can add to any server is 3GB - if you really have a good use case for more SWAP, please contact support and we'll enable even bigger swap partitions (but as described normally it would not make sense). To ensure the platform can complete server snapshots for you in a reasonable timeframe, the maximum size for a primary or boot disk is 50GB. For volume storage, we recommend using our high performance NAS options - which also cost a lot less than primary SSD storage! You can also mount secondary or additional SSD drives should you need very high performance.
